On the afternoon of May 22nd, 2020, Ren Xiang, Chairman of China-UK Science and Technology Innovation Platform, invited Ms. Ma Qingyun, Chief Representative of China Office of Welsh Government, to visit Henan Institute of Science and Technology to make an investigation on the international joint education between China and UK. Li Chengwei, president of Henan Institute of Science and Technology, Wang Xia, vice president, Jia Jishen, vice president of Henan Institute of Science and Technology, Zhang Yanjun, director of the president's office and other leaders of Henan Institute of Science and Technology warmly welcomed the arrival of China-UK science and technology innovation platform and his party. At the beginning of the symposium, President Li Chengwei briefly introduced the development of the college. Henan Institute of Science and Technology has 15 national-level specialty, pilot specialty of comprehensive reform, pilot specialty of training plan for outstanding vocational teachers and pilot specialty of training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, and 29 first-class specialty, specialty, pilot specialty of comprehensive reform and pilot specialty of training mode reform for undergraduate engineering education in Henan Province. In terms of foreign cooperation, the university has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 20 universities in more than 10 countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, the Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Ukraine. The college attaches great importance to the international joint education with Wales and looks forward to landing as soon as possible.
After listening to President Li Chengwei's speech, Ms. Ma Qingyun said that joint education is an important part of deep cooperation between Henan and Wei. As the chief representative of China Office of Welsh Government, I hope to promote the high-quality common development of education, science and technology, agriculture and other fields between the two places through multi-dimensional cooperation. For joint education, we will actively coordinate and push forward all work as soon as possible. After that, Ms. Ma Qingyun made a brief school introduction on behalf of the University of Alberta in the United Kingdom. The discipline of international relations at Abel University ranks first in the UK, ahead of Oxford and Cambridge. The artificial intelligence discipline of its computer school is also well-known in the UK. The school's advantageous disciplines are in good agreement with Xinxiang's key development industries.
Vice Mayor Wang Zhanbo made a brief speech on the joint running of schools, hoping that Sino-British science and technology innovation platform will give full play to its role as a bridge, coordinate various resources and work together to cultivate high-quality innovative talents for the development of Xinxiang and Wales.

After the symposium, accompanied by President Li Chengwei, Vice Mayor Wang Zhanbo visited and inspected the New Academy of Sciences of Henan University of Science and Technology together with the China-UK Science and Technology Innovation Platform and his party.
