UK-Henan Business Insights Roundtable was recently held successfully at the Zhengzhou Jiyun Investment Building. Hosted by British Consulate General Wuhan, China-UK Technology and Innovation Platform(CNUKTIP) participated as a partner, providing professional support throughout the event and ensuring the smooth progress of all agenda items.
His Majesty's Trade Commissioner to China, Lewis Neal, British Consul General Wuhan, Dominic McDAllister, Deputy Consul General, Richard Cox, Trade Consul, Arvind Norris, Senior Trade and Investment Officer, Linda Lin, Senior Trade and Investment Officer, Chloe Lin, and Ms. Wu Jiang, China Representative of UK Export Finance, along with executives from six leading companies in Henan's new materials, health industry, and consumer services sectors, gathered for a roundtable discussion to explore new opportunities for Henan-UK business cooperation and discuss new paths for overseas market expansion.
As a professional platform deeply rooted in Henan-UK cooperation for many years, CNUKTIP fully leveraged its resource-linking advantages, proactively undertaking the crucial tasks of inviting companies and providing on-site support. It successfully invited three Henan companies—Mixue Group, Third Dimension (Henan) Software Technology Co., Ltd., and Henan Bangni Biological Engineering Co., Ltd.—to participate in the conference.
At the meeting, executives from six companies shared their industry strategies, core technological advantages, and overseas development plans, vividly demonstrating the strong vitality of enterprises in the Central Plains region in technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and conveying a strong desire to explore the UK market.

In his speech, His Majesty's Trade Commissioner to China, Lexis Neal, affirmed the innovative strength and internationalization potential of Henan enterprises. Ms. Wu Jiang, China Representative of UK Export Finance, provided a detailed overview of the UK's business environment and policy support in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and retail, offering clear guidance for Henan enterprises "going global" in the UK.
During the open exchange session, business representatives and British guests engaged in in-depth discussions on core issues such as market access, technological cooperation, and supply chain integration. The British guests provided targeted answers to key concerns raised by the businesses regarding their overseas expansion, laying a solid foundation for future practical cooperation.
The successful hosting of this roundtable not only vividly demonstrates the strength of the China-UK Science and Technology Innovation Platform in connecting enterprises in Central China with British resources, but also presents a significant opportunity for deepening economic and trade cooperation between Henan and the UK. Since its establishment in Henan in 2018, the platform has consistently focused on "gathering innovative industries from both China and the UK to serve Henan's future development," integrating resources from the UK House of Commons, government innovation departments, and Henan's government, enterprises, and universities to build a solid bridge for technology transfer, talent exchange, and capital matching. From regularly hosting joint ancestral worship ceremonies with the UK and organizing China-UK international industrial cooperation seminars, to receiving visits to Henan by the British Ambassador to China, Earls, and other political and business dignitaries, and further promoting the establishment of offshore innovation centers and the incubation of international projects, the platform has become a "connector" and "accelerator" for two-way cooperation between Henan and the UK.
In the future, CNUKTIP will continue to leverage its strengths, focus on the internationalization needs of enterprises in the central region, further deepen cooperation with British Consulate General Wuhan and various sectors in the UK, provide full-chain support for more enterprises in Henan and even the central region to connect with UK market resources and expand overseas development space, and help Henan and the UK achieve a higher level of pragmatic cooperation in science and technology innovation, industrial upgrading and other fields, and jointly draw a blueprint for two-way openness and mutual benefit.
