On January 25th, local time, the Cambridge Chinese Community Centre's Chinese New Year Temple Fair was held at Netherhal School in Cambridge. Chinese cuisine, traditional culture, musical instruments, and dances filled Cambridge with the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year. To everyone's delight, the Yellow Emperor and Youxiong made a joint appearance at the fair, promoting Yellow Emperor culture and telling Chinese stories up close.
A special "Yellow Emperor Culture Themed Exhibition Area" was set up at the fair. Through exquisite illustrations and professional explanations in both Chinese and English, the exhibition vividly showcased the Yellow Emperor's foundational contributions to civilization, including "building boats and carts to benefit the world, creating clothing and hats to clarify etiquette, and establishing a calendar to tell time." This allowed participants to deeply appreciate the long history and great contributions of Yellow Emperor culture. Teachers and students from the Cambridge Chinese School, dressed as Yellow Emperor and Youxiong costumes, became a unique sight at the festive fair, attracting thousands of Chinese and foreign visitors to stop and admire the unique charm of Yellow Emperor culture.
At the event, numerous overseas Chinese, visiting scholars, and enthusiasts spontaneously participated in the promotion and dissemination of Yellow Emperor culture. They expressed that Yellow Emperor culture is a spiritual treasure of Chinese civilization, and as overseas Chinese, inheriting and promoting this traditional culture overseas is not only a deep-seated protection of their national roots but also a contribution to promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
Since 2020, through the platform of the Grand Ceremony for Overseas Chinese in the UK to Pay Homage to the Yellow Emperor, Yellow Emperor culture has gradually become an important part of Sino-British cultural exchanges. This year, the ceremony will be held on March 16th at the Li Chengzhi Auditorium, Wolfson College, Cambridge University. The ceremony will be held both online and offline, widely connecting Chinese people worldwide to witness this cultural event, further promoting exchanges and integration between Chinese and foreign cultures, and contributing wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
