On February 13, 2025, Ren Xiang, Chairman of the China-UK Technology and Innovation Platform(CNUKTIP), Wang Xi, Project Director, and Du Yutong, Operations Director of the UK Headquarters, held strategic talks with Dominic McAllister, Consul General of the British Consulate General in Wuhan, Arvind Norris, Trade and Investment Consul, and Chloe Lin, Senior Trade and Investment Officer for Healthcare and Life Sciences at the Department for Business and Trade. They reached important consensus on deepening China-UK cooperation in multiple fields. Both sides emphasized that they will fully leverage the bridging role of the CNUKTIP, taking technological innovation as the guide, and coordinating cultural, educational, and industrial resources to jointly build a China-UK innovation community.图片The meeting focused on cutting-edge technologies and industrial upgrading, proposing to promote the in-depth development of China-UK cooperation with "technology matching demand and resource-driven transformation" as the core. In the life sciences field, both sides will leverage projects such as the cell technology laboratory, joint cancer research center, and regenerative medicine laboratory to integrate the UK's research advantages with China's clinical resources, accelerating the clinical application of related life and health technologies. In the education and humanities field, they will expand joint university training programs, exchanges of young scientists, and co-creation of cultural IPs, exploring a two-way empowerment path of "science and technology + humanities." Furthermore, both sides will utilize Henan's 240-hour visa-free policy and the Premier League's China office as links, using sports, cultural tourism, and creative industries as touchpoints to promote mutual trust and the integration of innovative culture, deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.图片Ren Xiang, Chairman of the CNUKTIP, stated that the platform is committed to accurately matching Henan's strategic needs with UK technological resources. In the future, it will build a sustainable cooperation model of "government guidance, market leadership, and ecosystem co-construction," promoting projects from "strategic dialogue" to "results transformation."

British Consul General in Wuhan, Mr. McDormand, expressed support and affirmation for the platform's various China-UK science and technology exchange and cooperation projects. He pointed out that the British Consulate General in Wuhan and the platform can establish a more diverse and multifaceted cooperative relationship in areas such as healthcare, education, cultural tourism, and trade activities.

Faced with the reshaping of the global innovation landscape, the CNUKTIP will continue to strengthen its "super hub" function, promote collaboration through openness and seek breakthroughs through integration, and help China and the UK write a new chapter of win-win cooperation in science and technology innovation and cultural exchanges.
